Efflorescence is a naturally occurring phenomenon where white, powdery deposits, usually salts, appear on the surface of materials like concrete, brick, and mortar. It is caused by water soluble salts rising to the surface as moisture evaporates. It is a non-structural issue and temporary and will naturally diminish over time as the minerals in the product are depleted.
